The author of the text of v. 1 is identified in the introduction to v. 2 as R.P. Payne, whose An inquiry into the symbolical language of ancient art and mythology is reprinted as an appendix with its own t.p. in v. 2, with [4], 83, [1] p. which includes the index to v. 2.
Plates are "Published by T. Payne and J. White."
Many of the 75 plates in v. 1 and the 58 in v. 2 were drawn and engraved by J. Agar.
