In the form of a letter to conte Prospero Tedesco. The closing appears on C5r: In Piacenza alli due di Nouembre à hore tre di notte, del M D LVII. It is followed by an addendum (C5v-C8r)
Allegorical woodcut depicting pine-tree(?) on t.p. It is illustrated in Zappella (Marche dei tipografi, V d) as the device of Girolamo and Valerio Meda (Milan 1540-1581), rather than of Giovanni Antonio degli Antoni. Zappella suggests that it may be used here as illustration of the work's subject, rather than as printer's device
