Sixty-three full-page engravings, mostly medallion ports. in elaborate surrounds. They are in Mortimer's 2nd state, with Roman numbering. Four of the medallions have been left blank (plates III, XI, XV, XXIII). There are also 9 engravings that depict arrays of 12 medallions; none of the 9 have all 12 spaces filled in, the places being indicated by empty circles. There are five small woodcut medallions in the text, and historiated woodcut initials

Binding: 16th-century calf over pasteboard. The covers are gold tooled: outlined with double fillets, and stamped with center oval and corner pieces filled with interlace patterns. Rebacked. Two pairs of skin ties at foredges. The edges gilt
Library's copy inscribed at foot of t.p. by Abraham Ortelius. Besterman points out that Ortelius published on a related topic: Deorum dearumque capita ex antiquis numismatibus Abrami Ortelii ... collecta. Errata are occasionally corrected in Ortelius's hand.
